One pocket-size device with two ways to check a hotel room or rental:
- Signal scanner (front): picks up the wireless signals that hidden cameras, trackers and listening devices send out. The lights climb as you get closer.
- Lens finder (back): a red filter and three red lights that make a camera lens show up as a bright flashing dot, even on cameras that don't transmit and cameras that are switched off.
It's a single device, not two: the red lens finder slides up out of the back when you need it. It fits in your carry-on, so you can check a room in a few minutes before you unpack. It's a quick screening tool, not a professional security sweep. See how to use it.
How to check a room
- Quiet your own devices. Turn off your phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, or switch it to airplane mode, so it doesn't set the detector off.
- Scan for signals. Pull out the antenna, switch the detector on and walk the room slowly. Spend extra time on smoke detectors, USB chargers, clocks, lamps, vents and picture frames. The lights climb as you get closer to a signal.
- Look for lenses. Turn off the lights, slide up the red lens finder, press Mode once and look through it as you sweep the room. A camera lens shows up as a bright flashing red dot.
The full how-to guide covers every button and mode.

Know what you're checking for
One detector, two ways to check: a signal scan on the front and a lens finder on the back. Here's exactly what each one covers.
What it can find
- Signal scan: Wi-Fi and cellular hidden cameras that are transmitting
- Signal scan: GPS trackers while they're sending their location, and listening devices that transmit
- Lens finder: camera lenses in your line of sight, even on cameras that are off or only record to a memory card
- Magnet check: strong magnets, like the ones that hold trackers under a car
What it can't find
- Cameras that don't transmit and whose lens you can't see from where you're checking
- Trackers that are switched off or only check in now and then
- Recorders that only pick up sound
- Which device a signal comes from. Phones, routers and smart TVs set it off too
An alert means a signal is nearby, not proof of a hidden device. Turn off your own devices first, then check the spot by hand and by eye. If you believe you're being recorded, contact the property and local police. Read the full how-to guide.
Why it works
-
Finds wireless signals
Picks up the signals that many Wi-Fi and cellular cameras, GPS trackers and listening devices send out.
-
Spots camera lenses
The red lens finder on the back makes a camera lens show up as a bright flashing dot, even if the camera is off.
-
Fits in a pocket
Small and light enough to live in your carry-on, so it's there at every hotel check-in.
-
Straight answers
We tell you what it can and can't find, so you know exactly what you're checking for.
Ready in minutes
Three quick steps, a few minutes per room.
-
Quiet your phone
Turn off your phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, or leave it outside the room, so it doesn't set off the scan.
-
Scan for signals
Pull out the antenna and walk the room slowly, past the usual hiding spots. When the alert climbs, check that spot by hand and by eye.
-
Look for lenses
Lights off, slide up the red lens finder, press Mode once and look for bright red dots that stay put as you move.
Questions before you check in
Something we didn't cover? Send us a note.
Is it one device or two?
One. The red lens finder is built into the back of the detector and slides up when you need it. In the box you get the detector, a USB-C charging cable, a lanyard and instructions.
How do I use it?
Turn off your phone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, pull out the antenna and walk the room slowly in signal mode. Then turn off the lights, slide up the red lens finder, press Mode once and look through it for bright red dots. Our how-to guide covers every button and mode.
Will my phone set it off?
It can. Phones, routers, smart speakers and other everyday electronics give off signals too. Turn off or move what you can before you scan, then take a closer look at anything that still sets it off.
Can I return it?
Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery if it's unused and in its original packaging. See our returns page for details.
Where's my order?
Orders ship within 3 business days and usually arrive 6 to 10 business days after that. You'll get an email with tracking as soon as your order ships. Can't find it? Contact us with your order number and we'll look into it.
