It's a light bulb until the lights go out. Then it's a hero.
Screw it in like any other bulb and use it as normal. When the power cuts out, Backup Buddy switches to its built-in battery on its own, so the room doesn't go dark. Take it out of the fixture and it's a portable light too.

Know before you screw it in
A regular-looking LED bulb with a battery inside, so the room doesn't go dark when the power does.
What it's great for
- Lamps and fixtures that take an E27 screw base
- Staying lit on battery when the power cuts out
- Charging its battery while it's in a live socket
- Coming out of the fixture as a portable light
What it's not for
- Fixtures with a bayonet or small candelabra base
- Warm, yellow-toned light. It's a cool white 6500K bulb
- Lasting all night at full brightness. Expect about 2 hours at 300 lumens
Battery run time is the supplier's figure: about 2 hours at 300 lumens, 3 hours at 200 lumens or 6 hours at 100 lumens. Check that your fixture takes an E27 base before ordering.

Which pack should I get?
One for the room you use most at night, or a pack for the hallway, kitchen and bedrooms. Packs of 1, 2, 4 and 6 are available.
Can I return it?
Yes. You can return it within 14 days of delivery if it's unused and in its original packaging. See our returns page for details.
